Only 44 years old, was Heavy D, he died last week at a clinic in Los Angeles. In a several-hour funeral service took his family and friends bid farewell to the many prominent musicians known.


Relatives and friends have the late U.S. rapper Heavy D paid their last respects. A native of Jamaica was in the past week at the age of 44 years died in a hospital emergency room in Los Angeles. The cause of death was complications due to his family from pneumonia.


Attended the funeral in upstate New York on Friday, among other things, the musicians Diddy, Usher and Queen Latifah, boxing promoter Don King and actor Will Smith part.

U.S. President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle spoke to the grieving family in a letter of condolences. "We will remember his infectious optimism and his many contributions to American music," the minister quoted from the letter during the service.

The musician, real name Dwight Arrington Myers, became famous in the late eighties. He was with his band Heavy D & the Boyz numerous hits, including "Now That We Found Love" and "Big Daddy".
