KKR vs RCB

KKR vs RCB
Today the Kolkata Knight Riders take on the Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 4 action. Eden Gardens, Kolkata is packed to the top of the rafters with local Knight Rider fans bent on the utter distruction of Bangalore. And the Royal Challengers are bent on seeing  a miraculous intervention. At least this is what their 2011 IPL season requires now.

Team Destinies Today

After a dismal start to their IPL dream, Daniel Vettori’s team simply must start putting numbers in the win column. Having allowed their standards to slip in fielding, catching, and even batting, Bangalore now sits on the threshold of Twenty20 failure – butter fingered fielders and mediocre batsmen are just a commodity this club can no longer afford. Big names or now, someone has to arrive to the Challengers to stay alive in IPL 4. The big question is who?
Tillakaratne Dilshan and AB de Villiers have, so far, shown no signs of showcasing their almost legendary talents. And to be honest, Dilshan in particular has disappointed this writer. His capabilities far exceed what he has shown so far. It’s about time to “put up or shut up” for this due. Let’s get real here, as batsmen there is no one to blame when the ball is bowled – no team to drag one down – no “sun in your eyes” rationale.
The Kolkata Knight Riders, on the other hand, have three big wins and two close defeats to their credit.  This talented team is pretty much in the thick of things for IPL 4. Their methodology of holding down opponent’s run totals so Jacques Kallis & Co. can chase them down – this has so far paid off. It’s pretty basic cricket when you get down to it. Their top order batsmen dictate their wins or losses usually, even though Gautam Gambhir has bailed the team out a bit in the middle of the order. He is scheduled to bat earlier today though.
For Kolkata things are pretty simple today – meet your potential, murdalize Bangalore. For Royal Chargers, Friday cricket is almost as easy – wake TF up and play ball, or die. My prediction is – a final awakening for Dilshan – Bangalore will pull this one off somehow.
