Spokesman Lt. Larry Stoney said the first call sent crews to the 700 block of Lora Court where the heavy flames and smoke billowing from a back bedroom delayed firefighting efforts. But firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading throughout the home.
The person living in the home was not hurt but is receiving aid from the Red Cross because of the damage.
The,n burning pallets at 1100 block of Beville Road brought crews to the auto care center of a Walmart Supercenter, Stoney said. The fire was confined to the storage area.
The State Fire's Marshal is investigating both fires.

According to Lt. Larry Stoney, an agency spokesman, crews were called to the Walmart on Beville Road on Saturday night, arriving to find a pallet storage area outside of the store's Auto-Care Center engulfed in flames.
Stoney said firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze and prevent the flames from spreading to the Walmart itself.
Meanwhile, firefighters were battling a second fire at a home on Lora Court. According to Stoney, crews arrived to find heavy smoke and flames coming from a rear bedroom of the home. Firefighters were able to contain the fire and keep the heavy damage to the bedroom area, Stoney said.
No injuries were reported in either fire. A resident of the Lora Court home is receiving Red Cross aid due to heavy fire damage to the home, Stoney said.
