Electing to bat first, English side just managed to score 229/6 in their allotted quota of 50 overs.

England openers returned to pavilion early but Mr Perfectionist Jonathan Trott and Ravi Bopara consolidated the English innings. However, Bopar was dismissed by Myralitharan for 31 runs.

Eoin Morgan joined the Trott after Bopara. Riding on four drop chances, Morgan scored half-century to guide his side close to cross the 200 mark.

Trott once again played sensible knock of 86 runs. He is now the leading run scorer in the tournament.

For Sri Lanka, Murali took two wickets while Dilshan, Malinga, Mendis and Mathews claimed one wicket each.
Earlier, Tilakaratne Dilshan provided first breakthrough to Sri Lanka after dismissing English skipper Andrew Strauss for 5 runs.
England skipper Andrew Strauss won the toss and elected to bat against Sri Lanka in the last quarterfinal here at R Premadasa stadium in Colombo.
England has kept its side unchanged, which means there is no place for James Anderson and Chris Tremlett is playing.

Sri Lanka has made one change in the side. Medium pacer Nuan Kulasekera has paved way for third spinner Rangana Herath in the side.
