The Kings gained two more points in the Western Conference standings with a 4-1 victory Saturday afternoon against the Colorado Avalanche at Staples Center, but may have lost a lot more.

Leading scorer Anze Kopitar had to be helped off the ice with an apparent right leg injury with 4 minutes 20 seconds remaining in the second period and did not return. Kopitar, who was playing in his 330th straight game, did not put any weight on the leg after he tangled with Colorado's Ryan O'Byrne along the boards.

The Kings were playing their second game without second-leading scorer Justin Williams, who suffered a dislocated shoulder Monday in a 2-1 shootout victory against visiting Calgary and is expected to miss the rest of the regular season.

More to come from the locker room.
