Description of the International Federation of Football "FIFA" riots that left dozens dead in the Egypt Premier League match on Wednesday as a "black day" for the game of football.
Said Joseph Sepp Blatter, President of the International Federation, in a statement posted on the site, "Viva," he was "deeply shocked and deeply saddened after knowing that a large number of football fans have died or been injured .. after the game was held in Port Said, Egypt."
Blatter added: "It is a black day for football .. these catastrophic events beyond imagination and must not occur at all .. My condolences to all the families who lost their lives."
The riots broke out after his team Al-Ahly first defeat this season, by adding "the Egyptian" with three goals against the goal, the latter club's stadium in Port Said.
Dozens have been killed, and some estimates put the death toll at more than 74 people dead and hundreds wounded, in the worst riots seen in the history of the Egyptian courts, prompting the league to declare off indefinitely.
In the same context, through the Confederation of African Football "CAF" regretted the riots in Egypt, said in a statement: "The Federation received a great shock news of the disaster that occurred in the city of Port Said in Egypt."
He said the African Union, "will stand a minute of silence to honor the memory of the victims of all meetings in the next African Nations Cup 2012."
