Head coach Gary Kubiak said that Schaub has a "significant injury in the foot" and would not play after the team's bye week. Then, Adam Schefter, ESPN reported that it is a lis franc injury, and Schaub is out for the rest of the season.

The Texans expect Johnson to return after the bye week after missing six games with an injured hamstring.
