Erin Burnett

Erin Burnett's new show OutFront premieres tonight on CNN at 7pm.
On yesterday's Reliable Sources Burnett told Howie Kurtz she's not going look at the ratings:
"Well, I'm not going to be looking at them at first, because I think we have to be — we know what we are, and we have a mission statement and we need to be consistent with that.  And I think that's really important, because I think as people know what that is, and there are consistency issues we care about, that they will come to the show.  So the most important thing is to be consistent and to believe in what we're doing."

Which is more or less what every single new show says before they launch and which is entirely untrue...TV people are obsessed with ratings the way sports fanatics are obsessed with statistics.  But it's a nice thought anyway.
Burnett also says she's just going to have fun with the fact she's now a bold-faced name: "You've got to just have fun and be who you are and be confident in who you are.  Right? And if people are interested, that's wonderful.  But then when they're not interested, you're not that invested.  You have the person that you are, and you're always that same person."
