Outfielder Delmon Young was not included Jan's starting lineup Detroit Tigers for the third game on Tuesday against the Texas Rangers in the Championship Series American League.
Detroit had initially dismissed Young's roster in the championship series, so it was described as a left oblique injury that suffered in the division series against the Yankees in New York. We conducted further studies showing that the ailment was not serious.
Young returned to play Monday in the second game of the series, after Magglio Ordonez suffered a new fracture in his right ankle.
The pilot Jim Leyland said Young was very sore and could not play.
In a press conference before the game, Leyland said Andy Dirks also be replaced in the lineup.
