The one good thing about the NFL lockout is that it made fans savor football even more. As the owners dragged players through the mud and we waited all summer for labor peace, the growing possibility that the NFL season would be delayed or canceled sent waves of dread through the general public. The result is that everyone is SUPER excited about the preseason, even though the preseason sucks. Like, it really sucks. The problem, of course, is that the NFL is like HEROIN. We can't stop. We want to, but we just can't. Sure, we go through the emotional pain of watching third-string quarterbacks struggle to earn a roster spot, but every so often there's that bit of payoff, that brief moment when you mainline the NFL and it feels fantastic.
With that, we turn to Tim Tebow, the Denver Broncos quarterback who weally, weally wants to play so bad he could scream. The sportswriter article du jour is something along the lines of "Tim Tebow is not good enough to be an NFL quarterback." EVERYONE loves shitting on this guy. It's just fun. There's always that kid in high school who's nice, and he tries hard to have everyone like him, but he's annoying enough and his kindness feels forced enough that you feel compelled to make fun of him at every opportunity. That's Tim Tebow. Hey, it's fun to do bad things, and wecompletelycondone all Tebow Bashing.
So why not jump into the fray? In honor of the NFL's return, we present to you the Tim Tebow play that looked like it could be awesome but resulted in three offensive penalties and an injured Dallas Cowboy. Enjoy! Also, we have no idea who won this game. Who cares?
