Noaa Weather


St. Petersburg and the rest of the Tampa Bay region may get this hurricane season's first taste of a tropical storm front this weekend as the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is monitoring a potential dangerous weather pattern in the tropics.
Dubbed Emily, the weather pattern was upgraded to a tropical storm Monday, and it is headed toward Puerto Rico and Haiti.
NOAA forecast models have been predicting that the storm could reach south Florida by Saturday.
The National Weather Services advises the public to monitor this weather event athurricanes.govor weather.gov/tampabaythroughout the week and into the weekend for updated alerts and a possible advisories.
