Judy Moody And The Not Bummer Summer


Judy Moody is ready for the ultimate summer, but are moviegoers ready to support her?
“Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer” follows the adventures of Judy Moody who is prepared to have the summer of her young life, before her parents tell her that they’re going to California, and she must remain at home with her brother Stink, while their Aunt Opal watches over them.
After she realizes learns that her Aunt is cooler than she ever thought, the trio creates the “Judy Moody Mega-Rare Not Bummer Summer Dare,” where they do a dare and get 10 points every time they’re successful.
After falling behind in the competition, Moody sets out to try to find Bigfoot, so she can dominate the competition.
The movie is based on the “Judy Moody” series by Megan McDonald.
The film opened on Friday and brought in $2.3 million, according to early estimates by Box Office Mojo—good for seventh place in the box office.
Director J.J. Abrams’ “Super 8” took first place on Friday, bringing in $12.2 million, and “X-Men: First Class” ($7.6 million) fell to second after topping the charts the week before.
The comedy “The Hangover Part II” took third, “Kung Fu Panda 2” was fourth, and “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” was fifth.
Starring in “Judy Moody” is Jordana Beatty who plays Judy Moody and Heather Graham as Aunt Opal.
Critics on Rotton Tomatos weren’t weren’t thrilled with the movie, giving it a rating of 14 percent.  The audience, however, enjoyed the film a little more, with a 74 percent average rating on the website.
