Michael Bolton was the guest star of last night’s “SNL” show and he was a hit, just not in the recording studio.
In the episode that aired last night, Bolton joined the SNL cast to perform a song. Not any old song, a song that would incorporate many characters that seemed to be the result of Bolton being a couch potato and “Cinemafile.”
We all know those people that have watched one to many “Pirates of the Caribbean” movies, but Bolton takes it to the next level.
During the episode, Bolton, a famous recording artist, arrives at the studio to tell his fellow artists that he has just watched the “Pirates of the Caribbean.” And goes on to say he is ready to record his latest track.
The scene cuts to a Bentley pulling up to a night club, which turns out to be the music video they are starring in, and shows the musicians cutting the line to begin partying with champagne and plenty of pretty women.
Then it cuts to Bolton, who sings, “This is the tale of Captain Jack Sparrow. Pirate so brave, the seven seas. This is the quest to the island of Tortoga,” shocking the other artists.
The song goes back to the club but almost as soon as it does, Bolton appears in a pirates cap taking over the show. He sings “Back to the good part” and carries on his pirate song. The best part would be when Bolton takes on the identity of the pirate and appears dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow on a pirate ship.
As if that isn’t weird enough, Bolton shifts characters and turns to Forest Gump singing, “Life is a box of chocolates,” a famous line from the movie. Soon, he turns to Erin Brockovich and finally to Tony Montana.
In the episode Bolton, 58, provides the audience with a ton of laughs. Check out the video below.
