On Tuesday, CNBC host Mark Haines passed away at the age of 65. Almost immediately after the announcement of Haines' death, former coworkers came forward to pay their respects.

Former Street Signs anchor Erin Burnett, who recently left CNBC for CNN, said of Haines, "Mark's legacy is that he didn't tolerate any B.S. from anyone. He wanted to tell the story — and that's why so many viewers trusted him. He would always ask the question that nobody else would ask. He was fearless."

Burnett later added, "He really believed it was his job to find out the truth. Mark has stories going back to his investigative days. He was really proud of being an old-school reporter."
