William Hart Bank Of China

William Hart, 37, head of sales for Bank of China International on the island, was at Lantern, a seventh floor bar at the five star Fullerton Bay Hotel when he was believed to have fallen over a metal railing and glass barrier.
Some 180 people were at the rooftop bar when he fell, at around 11.25pm last Thursday.
The case has been officially listed as “an unnatural death” and a police spokesman described it as “mysterious and needing a full investigation”.
Mr Hart’s body was found by Singapore Civil Defence Force’s disaster assistance and relief team divers near the bottom of the Singapore River after a two hour search.
The Foreign Office said it was providing help to the man’s family.
A spokeswoman said: “We can confirm the death of a British national in Singapore on April 7.
“We are in touch with his family and are providing consular assistance.”
Giovanni Viterale, general manager of the hotel, said the Briton involved was in a group of four.
It is believed one of them is a friend who was visiting from Canada.
While it is not clear how Mr Hart fell, one theory was that he leapt in a game of dare.
When asked if staff members had noticed him climbing over the railing, Mr Viterale said: “Unfortunately not, or we would have taken immediate and preventive action.”
Mr Viterale added: “The safety of our guests is always a priority for us and we have security personnel at our rooftop bar throughout our operating hours.”
Police do not suspect any foul play and have not arrested anyone in connection with the incident.
