Odom's broken relationship with his estranged father was one of the main topics of the show's premiere episode.
The 31-year-old Los Angeles Laker said his father, Joe, is a heroin addict.
"I'm not asking him to be a father. I'm asking him to act like you are my father," Odom said on the show.
Joe showed up at a book signing and surprised Kardashian, and she tries to arrange a reunion so they can mend their relationship. But when Joe calls and asks for money, she begins to see why her husband keeps his father distant.
Kardashian's brother Rob moves in with the couple, making life in the newlyweds' home more complicated. We also meet some of the other people in their lives - Odom's best friend Jamie, and Kardashian's best friend/personal assistant Malika.
