Awning

Now is the perfect time to think about adding some shade to your outside space.
Whether it's window awnings, a sunroom or a retractable awning over an outdoor patio, Ron Simmons, president and general manager of Patio Systems, said it's something you'll be glad you did.
"A lot of people have a deck that either came with the house or they built themselves," he said. "Many people don't utilize it because it gets too hot."
The answer is a retractable awning that provides sun or shade whenever you want it.
Kathy Greene was so happy with the awnings on her first home that she called Patio Systems to install them on her second home.
"When we moved here, I thought of the awnings right away," she said.
She had two motorized retractable awnings installed above her deck and above a transom window in her bedroom.

"It gives the deck a very Frenchy look," she said. "His products really speak for themselves."
Greene can now control both awnings with one remote.
"I have a golden retriever who loves sitting on the deck now," she said. "She can sit out there and enjoy her smells and we can eat out there."
Greene said the awnings have inspired her family to get more enjoyment from their outdoor space.
"I wish I had more windows to put more awnings on," she said.
Don Brower is in the process of having a four-season sunroom added to his house.
So far, he said he's pleased with Patio Systems and its customer service.
"The thing about Patio Systems is that they are just super people to work with," he said. "They do a nice job."
Simmons said his products help people enjoy their time at the beach a little more.
"We have a lot of retirees who ... don't want to think about anything other than enjoying themselves (when they come to the shore)," he said.
Everything is custom made and Simmons has installed awnings as large as 33 feet wide. Along with sunrooms and awnings, the business also installs canopies, thermal sun rooms, screen rooms, enclosures, porches and vinyl decks.
"Some people are paying a fortune to cool their homes with the sun beating in," Simmons said
"It decreases inside temperatures by about 15 degrees. There have been studies that show people save about 20 to 30 percent."
