William Shatner

William Shatner
William Shatner turns 80 today, but said last week he is dreading the landmark birthday.
“It’s monstrous,” Shatner told Britain’s Daily Express March 17. “Horrible and terrible fall short of describing it.’’
Shatner, a Canadian actor, has been in movies and television shows for decades and is best known for his breakout role as Captain James T. Kirk on Star Trek.
The 19 years of success in his role as Kirk surprised Shatner.
“I never thought it’d become a big deal, just 13 episodes and out,” Shatner told the New York Times last year.
He is also known for his lead roles in T.J. Hooker and Boston Legal and his current project, “$#*! My Dad Says,” a CBS sitcom based on a Twitter feed.
Shatner hopes to be in the new Star Trek film expected in 2012.
“I’d like to be in it,” he said, going on to joke, “But I think it will be difficult to rationalize how Captain Kirk got to my age and looks like me – you know, being 6ft 2in, muscular in the shoulders and 180 pounds.”
