New internet singing sensation Rebecca Black is building a surprising defense in response to the public’s dismay with her single that landed her on the national entertainment stage.
Lady Gaga is among Black’s defense base, saying she’s brilliant: “I think [she’s] fantastic. I say Rebecca Black is a genius and anyone that’s telling her she’s cheesy is full of s**t,” according to E! Online.
Simon Cowell, notorious for his work on American Idol as the cut-throat judge, joined Gaga, saying Rebecca is “brilliant” and it is “hysterical” that there is such an uproar over an innocuous tune.
Rebecca appeared very recently on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and also Conan.Mashable reports Black’s song, Friday, topped any of Justin Bieber’s on iTunes and has more views that Gaga’s Born This Way on YouTube.
