Debbie Reynolds

Debbie Reynolds
Elizabeth Taylor’s one-time rival, Debbie Reynolds, opened up about Taylor’s early life, charities, and legacy.
Reynolds called in to Access Hollywood to speak with Billy Bush and Kit Hoover.
She calls Taylor’s death “a blessing in disguise” because it put her out of her pain. She recalls saying, “Getting old is really sh––," in her last conversation with her friend about two weeks ago. She continued, "And she said, 'It certainly is. It certainly is, Debbie. This is really tough.'”
"I said, 'Well, you just hang in there now, Elizabeth,'" Reynolds went on to remember. "And she said, 'I'm really trying.'"
People reports that Reynolds reflected on her friend in a statement issued after her passing on Wednesday.
"She was the most glamorous and sexual star of our generation," the 78-year-old said. "No one else could equal Elizabeth's beauty and sexuality. Women liked her and men adored her, and her love for her children is enduring."
