TottenHam vs West Brom

TottenHam vs West Brom
It's a disappointing result for Tottenham Hotspur as they were held at home by an industrious West Bromwich Albion side when earned a late point thanks to a remarkable goal from Simon Cox. The draw probably ends Tottenham's hopes of claiming fourth place this year - they're now a point behind Manchester City having played a game more, so their fate is now firmly in the hands of others.
The game itself was interesting. West Brom have been one of the Premier League's form teams recently, and they played well before taking an early lead through Peter Odemwingie. On the same play, Spurs left back Benoit Assou-Ekotto managed to injure himself, making life even more difficult for the hosts, but they managed to get back into the game thanks to a low shot from Roman Pavlyuchenko and might have considered themselves unlucky to to be leading by halftime.
Things continued in that vein after the interval before Jermain Defoe made it 2-1 Tottenham after dancing his way into space and unleashing a rocket past Scott Carson, but they couldn't make the lead stand up thanks to Simon Cox, who added a moment of pure class to the whole affair by guiding a brilliant curling effort past the fingertips of Heurelhio Gomes and into the back of the net. 2-2 would be the final score. Spurs stay fifth, while West Brom reach that magical forty point mark. It looks like they're safe this year.
