It is understandably confusing. Marvin Gaye died tragically on April 1, 1984, a day before he would have turned 45. He was born on April 2.

This is the kind of thing that can confuse a lot of people and there are a lot of people on Twitter and so if you click on Marvin Gaye under trending topics, a whole bunch of people are wishing Marvin Gaye happy birthday.

That's fine. There's no wrong time to celebrate Marvin Gaye's work. If as a nation we decided we wanted to spend just a little time every day listening to Marvin Gaye, we'd be better off for it.
