Britney Spears Lawsuit

Britney Spears Lawsuit
Brand Sense Partners LLC filed a lawsuit this week against pop singer Britney Spears. The brand marketing company claims that Spears and her father, Jamie Spears, violated their contract last year when they renegotiated a contract with Elizabeth Arden, the cosmetic company that creates Spears’ fragrance line. They are seeking $10 million, punitive damages, and confirmation that they are entitled to a 35 percent commission on all perfumes produced.
Britney Spears has been protected from recent lawsuits filed by former bodyguards and an ex-manager, by a conservatorship that was established in 2008. The court-ordered conservatorship is controlled by Jamie Spears and an attorney, and is the result of several high-profile incidents and hospitalizations that occurred at that time. Jeff Raymond, Spears’ publicist, has not yet provided any comment from the family.
The lawsuit comes during the same week that Spears’ latest album, “Femme Fatale,” was released. Also this week, the singer announced her upcoming tour, which will include Latin singer Enrique Iglesias.
