Scott Snyder has confirmed several new details about his upcoming miniseries, which will serve as a companion to his Vertigo ongoing series American Vampire.

American Vampire: Survival of the Fittest will be set in Eastern Europe, and will tie in with a new storyline in Snyder's main series set across the world in the Pacific theater during World War II.

"The whole thing is almost like a black case file of the Vassals," Snyder told CBR, after revealing that the miniseries will focus mainly on the characters Cashel McCogan and Felicia Book.

"Both [Cashel and Felicia] are members of that organisation when this starts and they are investigating a claim that this scientist in Eastern Europe has developed a cure for vampirism," the writer added.

Snyder is also penning a new Batman miniseries featuring Owlman and I-Ching.

American Vampire: Survival of the Fittest will be written by Snyder with pencils from formerHellblazer artist Sean Murphy.

It has also been announced that regular American Vampire artist Rafael Albuquerque will be credited as co-creator on the series from the start of the new story arc.

American Vampire #13 is due in shops on March 30.
