Tin Pei Ling Facebook

Tin Pei Ling Facebook
From Singapore, news of the youngest PAP candidate ever’s first encounter with online journalists does not bode well. Ms. Tin Pei Ling has tasted the first bitter fruits of what veteran politicians already know as something scathing digital media criticism.
Talk about baptisms in fire, never before has being young held such negative connotation. Tin Pei Ling Facebook has already become a Google trend in Singapore – let’s see why.

When An Honest Face Won’t Do It?

The media, bloggers and and array of websites have apparently set out to make a bigger than life deal out of the fact hat Ms. Tin is only 27. Only 27? And then the media decided to toss in the fact that her husband’s position as Private Secretary to Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong – as if every political figure does not know someone sometime? You see, this is the state of politics and our problems these days, the people have lost the ability to actually recognize and honest face when they see one. Look at the images at the highly touted Facebook pages of this lady. And as for video via YouTube, let’s look at straight introductions rather than finding out of context hype.
The fact that Ms Tin is a senior associate at Ernst & Young Advisory scarcely came to the attention of anyone doing the roasting. You just don’t get to a position of advisement by knowing someone, and for Tin she has been serving in the grassroots arena for seven years. She is now expected to contest the MacPherson ward in the coming General Election. What would the media have as the young lady’s next logical step – grocery cashier? Give me a break. A world full of less than honest politics going on at record breaking pace – and the best anyone can do it harp about a candidate’s age. Who is the fool here?

Voting Conscience Instead of Hype

The woman’s Facebook pages, YouTube video of her playing around with said media? Good lord, unless they find video of her looking at some man’s butt like Obama was caught doing to an intern, what is the problem? Give the woman a chance will ya? With all the People Action Party (PAP) candidates being named, it seems a bit excessive for some journalists to have singled out Tin Pei Ling. While other entries have suffer blows, Ting’s seem to be the lowest ones.
It’s high time people started voting their gut feeling rather than the propaganda spat at the throng. How do you think we got to the sorry state we are in?
